Paul Jr. sings “Rolling in the Deep”

Personally I’m not a fan of cover songs unless they’re incredibly reworked like this one or the entire Renegades album by Rage Against the Machine. At live shows when bands cover a song, I’m cool with that. It’s just recorded covers. I just usually prefer the original. And personally, I’m not a fan of rappers who try to sing except Cee-Lo, K-Os and Drake (and maybe Phonte). So there’s my bias.

So here’s Paul Jr., lead emcee of the Fresh Breath Committee, singing Adele’s hit song “Rolling in the Deep.” So does it meet my criteria? Not quite, but some people are feeling this so I thought I’d share. Check it out and leave your thoughts.

AUDIO: Surpass Flavor Feat. Shocker G – Rose

I Might Be My Dude Surpass Flavor Biggest Fan! Feeling This Joint! Perfect For The Summer! Makes Me Want To Light Up A Cigar And Sip Some Drinky Drink! Lil 2 Step Action! Keep The Tunes Coming Brotha!

Surpass Flavor returns with Rose, the first single from his upcoming Over/Under EP. Keeping with casino references, Over/Under is a play on sports books as well as the contrast between radio rap and underground hip-hop in which the emcee crafts songs for both genres. While searching for producers who share the Over/Under philosophy, Surpass discovered Shocker G, a producer from the UK with a penchant for both above-ground contemporary rap and old-school hip-hop tracks. Shocker G then provided Surpass with Rose’s undeniable chorus and format intact. Surpass follows Shocker G’s direction eloquently and transforms the bass-rich champagne celebration into a night of role play with his wife, fresh with references of babysitters and aliases. The result is a hit all rap fans from all ages can enjoy. Click the link for Free Download http://surpassflavor.bandcamp.com/ and look for new music from the two coming soon!
