It’s no secret that me and DJ Chonz came up in the 90′s and artists from that era mean a lot to us. But at the same time, when artists from that era try to make comebacks a decade or so later, sometimes it’s a disappointment.

So when word that SWV was trying to make a comeback, of course people were a bit skeptical. But with their new song “Co-Sign,” it’s hard to front. The ladies still got it. Check out the video:

Prime Element says to “Listen Up”

Prime Element (formerly known as Three the Hardway) are starting 2012 off right with a new song and video to get heads ready for the new album under the indie imprint Kamikazi Airlines Music.

The song, “Listen Up,” was produced by German producer Shuko, while the video was shot by Konsequence. Check it out:

If you’ve been to any hip-hop show in the Denver-area, we’re sure you’ve seen DJ Cavem around hustling his music, events and promoting the “green” movement in the hood. He’s been making music for sometime now and is one of those rappers that walks the talk that he spits.

Check it his new video for “Let It Grow,” encouraging self-sustainability in the community from his upcoming album, Produce Section.

Pries prepares to drop ‘No Glue 2′

The homie Pries burst onto the local scene back in 2010 and has been doing a pretty good job at making a name for himself. He dropped two solid mixtapes in 2010 and then two more albums in 2011, along with shooting a bunch of videos featuring songs from all of the projects (Download all of his projects for free here).

Now in 2012, he’s not slowing down at all. Next week, Feb. 13, he’ll be dropping his fifth project, No Glue 2. He dropped a video for “Look at Me (My Cocky Song)” to promote the album already but here’s another taste of what’s to come.

King FOE is a ‘Junkie’

Speaking of King FOE, one-third of the BLKHRTS collective, he dropped his first joint from his upcoming project Junkie, which drops on March 31. The first song and video from the project is the title track, “Junkie.” Produced by Yonnas with a video directed by Konsequence, King FOE takes us into the world and the mind of a junkie. After Yonnas dropped his Sextape album late last year under the BLKHRTS umbrella, he warned that 2012 would see a whole lot of BLK. Along with solo projects from the other two group members King FOE and KarmathaVoice, as well as a mixtape with DJ Ktone, the group surprised fans last month with a new collection of songs called CHRCH.

Whether you call it an album, mixtape or an EP, it’s 10 super fresh songs that you can download for free at the group’s bandcamp page.

We already know the talent that Spoke-In-Wordz and Fresh Breath Committee’s Paul Junior has. But now the duo have joined forces to showcase that talent in a contest hosted by record label, Funk Volume. The contest, “Don’t Funk Up Our Beats,” gives rappers the choice of several beats to spit over, with a chance to win $1,000.

Spoke and Paul chose a beat, uploaded a video for the song and now need your help getting to the next phase of the contest. They need at least 100 votes from fans and friends before they can move on to judging phase. Here’s the link to vote and check the song and video below:
