Kendrick Lamar Thanks Tupac in a Letter
On Sunday September 13th rapper Kendrick Lamar made a continued attribution to late rapper Tupac. Tupac is obviously up there with rappers as far as being one of the best and managed to inspire people all over. Including Kendrick Lamar who shows nothing but admiration for the dead rapper. He shows his tribute the best when he dropped his newest album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. One of parts of the album he pretends to interview Tupac from an old it’s during the track “Mortal Men”. Since you’re reading this you know this is not the end of Kendrick’s admiration for the late rapper.
Sunday marked the 19th anniversary for the most known rapper across the world Tupac. For those of you who don’t know Tupac Shakur was fatally shot four times and died from his injuries six days later. To pay tribute to the rapper, Kendrick Lamar took time out of his busy career life to write a thoughtful letter to his idol. Most likely because Lamar is a rapper we all know the letter was featured on 2pac.com It’s even been comfirmed by the site itself that Kendrick Lamar penned the letter.
Also little did you know fact; To Pimp a Butterfly was actually suppose to be called Tu Pimp a Caterpillar. Which would of been Tu.P.A.C. when the title was abbreviated. It’s interesting to think of what else Kendrick will try to do to incorporate Tupac into music.
The letter itself is super cute it reminds me of something you would write in grade school to the person you want to be when you grow up. Which I think is the point that Kendrick was trying to immortalize one of his idols.
What do you guys think is Kendrick anything that Tupac was?
