Waka Flocka Flame Feat. Good Charlotte – “Game On”
Waka Flocka is eating his way into Hollywood with his new song “Game On” with Good Charlotte (the rock band?) off the upcoming soundtrack of PIXELS- The Movie. Why did a rock band decide to work with Waka Flocka Flame I have literally no idea. Especially with Flocka’s style you think it would just be terribly awful. But this song really was made, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this and I got to say it’s actually a good song. In the song Flocka raps over the KoOlkOjak produced beat that incorporates samples of video games.
The song creates a very different style of what were typically used to. This is because the song starts off with a variety of video game like noises. Then it goes into this catchy hook with the Madden brothers that’s is more of a rock style that is still related to the videogame themed movie with the verse “This is not a game now, nobody can save you.” The main part of song is very different being rap on top of a videogame type beat which is a big difference from the hook because Flocka always goes hard when he spits. His verses are also related to the movie’s structure with verses like “They gon’ play me like a Playstation from playin’ on that station But/ I’m a be the face of a generation” and “Get Xbox deleted cause in my lane / No controller but me playin’ my game.” Some who are probably not rap fans to begin with have said that Flocka’s verses are ridiculous but I think that’s just how Waka Flocka is he free flows and gets really loud.
Being able to pull of such a collaboration of music genres is a promised hit on the Billboard 100. Have you heard Bad Blood with Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar?
The movie PIXELS comes to theaters July 24, 2015 from Sony Films. Very likely to be a summer blockbuster featuring stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad and many more. It’s about video game characters being brought to Earth by Aliens and trying to kill the human race.
